They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served what has been created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen.

Romans 1:25 (CSB)

Idolatries had become embedded in the culture of the Romans, to whom Paul was writing this letter.  We can see idolatries visible in our current society, when God the Creator is replaced by idols of those things that have been created.  The beautiful and terrifying things in nature are revered more than God who created them. Passions are no longer directed to praising the Creator but instead to giving prominence to the self, with lies and idolatry.

When people fall away from the truth of God to serve and follow idols, there are consequences. God is a just God who cannot overlook sin.  I am so thankful that He will look past my sins to the Cross where Jesus paid the ultimate price for justice.  That is why praising the Lord our God is a liberating joy. Truly, God is to be praised forever! Amen!
